You can do so many things with pasta. Whether it’s a classic Italian dish like Arrabiata or a cozy comfort food like Mac and cheese, pasta is always sure to make for a scrumptious meal. But what if you’re stuck at home with only a few ingredients in your pantry? Worry not. We’ve got just the right recipes for you.  

Creamy Tomato Pasta
This incredibly tasty tomato pasta recipe is made with only 3 ingredients. Not only is it easy to cook, but the ingredients needed for this dish are probably already in your kitchen cupboard. 

Ingredients:

300 g El Real Spaghetti
1 1/2 cups pasta sauce
3 oz. light cream cheese, softened

For serving (optional):
2 Tbsp. Parmesan cheese
Fresh basil
Lemon wedges

Directions:

  1. Bring a medium pot of salted water to a boil. Add angel hair and cook according to package instructions, usually 1-2 minutes.
  2. Add pasta sauce to a separate smaller pot. Bring to a boil and then reduce heat to simmer, covered. Stir in cream cheese until smooth.
  3. Once pasta is cooked, toss with sauce. Scoop servings onto individual plates. If desired, sprinkle with Parmesan and basil, and serve with lemon wedges.

Garlicky Shrimp Pasta

Even with few ingredients, this recipe makes a pasta dish that’s light, spicy, and truly delectable. The combination of butter and garlic packs a ton of flavor into this dish sure to make it one of your new favorites. 

 

Ingredients:

5 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided
8 garlic cloves, sliced
1 lb. large 20-30 ct. shrimp, peeled and deveined
1/4-1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
250 g El Real Flat Pasta
1/2-1 cup starchy pasta water

Directions:

  1. Fill a medium-sized pot halfway full with water (see recipe for notes). Bring to a boil. 
  2. Heat a large skillet and add butter. Once butter melts, add garlic and cook for a few minutes until it smells delicious and looks a little bit soft. This should take 1-2 minutes. 
  3. While the garlic cooks, season the shrimp on both sides with salt and pepper. Add shrimp to the pot. At the same time, add the pasta to the boiling water. Cook shrimp until bright pink and curled up, about 3-4 minutes. Cook pasta until al dente.
  4. Once the shrimp are done, remove from heat. When the pasta is done, add to the shrimp, return to the heat but reduce it to low. Add red pepper flakes and 1/2 cup of pasta water. Toss to combine, If needed, add more pasta water to create desired consistency. Season pasta with salt and pepper.

Mac and Cheese

If you’re addicted to cheese then this is the perfect recipe for you. Quick, classic, and comforting, Mac and Cheese will always be a favorite of kids and kids-at-heart. 

Ingredients:

350 g El Real Macaroni
2 cups milk
2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
½ cup panko bread crumbs
? cup bacon
3 tbsp butter
3 tbsp flour

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 205°C (400°F).
  2. Cook the pasta al dente in a large pot of boiling, salted water. Drain.
  3. In the same pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the flour, stir and cook for 1 minute.
  4.  Pour in the milk and bring to a boil, whisking.
  5. Add the cheese and stir until it has melted. Mix in the pasta.
  6. Transfer the pasta and sauce to a 20 cm (8 in) round or square baking dish or 4 ramekins.
  7. In a bowl, mix the breadcrumbs with the bacon bits. Sprinkle over the macaroni. Bake for 10 minutes.
